Call us today on 0844 585 6040 to discover how we can help remove your phobia or concern - for good!
Many people think that a fear and a phobia are the same thing. In fact, they are quite distinct.
These typically have been built up during the time of suffering the fear or phobia, and are seldom the original cause. Often, these fade away when the fear or phobia is removed, but we are also skilled in dealing with each of these areas, and always ensure that these are completely resolved.
Complex fears and phobias can sometimes take a little longer to deal with thoroughly and completely. Our Consultant will be able to advise you regarding this, personally and privately.
It leads immediately to one of three states - flight, fight or freeze.
Here at The Phobia Clinic we understand this difference very well, and know just how to deal effectively and speedily with either problem, using the latest and most reliable methods. Most simple fears and phobias are dealt with in a session or two.
Accompanying the above are often anxiety states, blushing, sweating, loss of confidence, performance anxiety, guilt, depression, negative thought patterns, compulsive behaviours, coping mechanisms, addictions and dependencies, nervousness, stress and sexual problems.
A phobia, however, is an illogical, automatic and extremely visible fearful reaction to a situation or person, or a thing, thought or stimulus. A phobic response is completely debilitating, and can NOT be controlled by the sufferer.
A fear is anything that you have an unpleasant response to when you think about experiencing it. But you may not show any signs of this externally. And, under pressure, you may well be able to force yourself to go through this situation. Many fears are quite rational in their origins and basis.
